About Placcc

The first PLACCC was organised in 2008 in order to introduce and present site-specific art forms in Hungary and inspire local artists.

With the support of Budapest Autumn Festival, PLACCC 2008 presented British, Dutch and Polish artists who gave new meaning to different Budapest locations, sites of our everyday life. Public spaces and streets, the former Socialist Party Academy and a posh shopping center were filled with new content and the city was transformed into a stage, raising the question: where exactly is the place of art in our everydays?

After last year’s exclusively international programme, in 2009 we are focusing on the Hungarian scene.
The invited artists will shed new light on places and objects of our city life that we know only too well and to which we have almost become oblivious. They will transform them into surprising and thought-provoking artistic experiences in order to give new meaning to the word ’home’.
The city is more than a setting or a stage, it becomes an inexhaustable source of inspiration and play.

If you are convinced that you know Budapest and the places that you pass by daily, PLACCC Festival is here again to prove you wrong and invite you to look at the city with a fresh eye.

Come, re-discover and enjoy.
